Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse: Watkins Solicitors Joins Next Link's Candlelit Vigil
On Monday, November 25th, the team at Watkins Solicitors joined the powerful Domestic Violence Vigil organised by Next Link. Representing the firm were Sophie Sims, Marwah Saleh, Priscilla Agyenim, and Daisy Barrows, who walked alongside the community to honour survivors and raise awareness.
The evening began at Next Link’s offices, where attendees were welcomed with hot chocolate and the heartfelt reading of poems. From there, participants carrying candles and placards, walked together down Park Street in Bristol. The procession paused at the iconic Wills Memorial Building for photographs and a moment of reflection, showcasing the community’s united stance against domestic abuse.
The vigil concluded at College Green, where a large crowd gathered to hear moving speeches and personal stories from survivors. These testimonies brought to light the challenges faced by survivors and highlighted the importance of support networks like Next Link, which provide essential services to those impacted by domestic violence.
Watkins Solicitors’ Commitment to Supporting Survivors
At Watkins Solicitors, we are proud to work with organisations like Next Link to provide survivors with the legal support they need to rebuild their lives. Our experienced Domestic Abuse Team offers compassionate and expert legal advice on a range of issues to ensure the safety and security of those affected.
- Non-Molestation Orders: These court orders are designed to protect survivors from harassment, threats, or violence by legally prohibiting the abuser from contacting or approaching them.
- Occupation Orders: These orders can help victims secure their home by legally deciding who has the right to live in or access the property. This is especially critical for individuals needing a safe environment for themselves and their children.
- Other Forms of Protection: We can assist with emergency injunctions and legal orders to support immediate safety, prevent harm, and protect children when needed.
We understand how daunting it can feel to take the first step in seeking help. That’s why our team is dedicated to guiding survivors through every stage of the legal process with care, sensitivity, and clear advice, helping them regain control of their lives.
