Watkins Smashes Fundraising Goal

24 September 2021 was MacMillan’s Coffee Morning – a nationwide fundraising effort for a valuable cause. As many at the firm will already be aware, Watkins took part in the effort to raise money for this charity. New working patterns meant that we had to adapt our approach to this fundraising event and I’m very grateful to all who baked for their immediate entourage and most importantly, took the time to donate to our fundraising page.

As a consequence of our efforts, we were able to raise £310. Our original target had been £150 which means we have doubled our goal! A few special thanks are due – firstly to Paige Matthews who used her birthday as a way of raising funds by selling off her birthday cake. Next, a very big Watkins thank you is due to our most supportive fundraiser - Mrs Mary Slade of Cardiff. She sold my homemade cookies alongside other tasty treats at a tea she kindly offered to host in her back garden on our behalf. She single-handedly surpassed our target, raising £190.

Thank you once more to all who donated. No contribution was too small, and combined, we’ve been able to offer MacMillan Cancer Support a little boost for their invaluable services.
